The Dominion War has been over for a decade and Starfleet is beginning to get back to its mission of exploration, to do this they have ships like the Proteus.
The USS Proteus is the latest Luna-class starship off the production line. The Luna's are science ships, designed specifically for long range exploration, equipped with the most advanced sensors in the fleet.
And we're going to need them, the Proteus has been assigned to chart a dangerous and unexplored region called the Nepheron Expanse.

So I opened my email this morning to find that the USS Proteus has won the Latinum award for Horizon Fleets simm of the month, this is the top award the fleet gives on a monthly basis and needless to say I'm very proud!
Its the crew that have made this award possible, if it weren't for all of you this simm would just be a 600 year old guy wandering round an empty ship but its become much more than that thanks to your dedication and skill; I firmly believe we have one of the best crews and the best writers in the fleet.
So congratulations to you all, this isn't just a simm award, it's your award, rewarding all the hard work and creativity you've put in to make this simm officially award winning.
Lets keep this momentum going and try and make it two eh? ;)

| The Proteus is rushed out of space dock unfinished and sent to investigate a distress call from the USS Angels Flight, a ship that went missing 8 months previous in a mysterious and uncharted region of space known as the Nepheron Expanse. |
